My junior and senior year of high school I worked on the yearbook. It was fun. We had an office we could go to instead of study hall and could occasionally make excuses to skip class.
A friend of mine also worked on the yearbook. She was incredibly smart and creative. She was also physically and sexually abused by her parents, lived with her grandparents, and attempted suicide periodically. It was a bad situation.
One day I was in the yearbook office and she was at the computer sweeping mines at a ridiculous rate. It was impressive. Hence I say, "Wow, I wish I were as fast as you at that." She just looked at me and said, "Are you kidding?"
Whatever - we all have priorities.
